Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Guru with a demonstrated understanding o the full software lifecycle. As a database developer you will be the focal point for design, test, implementation and  the delivery of database focused deliverables to fulfill customer requirements.

 

This position will include a variety of activities, including:

  • Working in a agile team to design, prototype, develop, and document new product offerings and enhance existing products and tools

  • Designing and developing database objects to support Java/JEE Web based applications and Domino applications

  •  Supporting application teams making database designs, loading, modifying and updating data

  • Tuning of database queries and code

  • Troubleshooting application issues and data related problems

  •  Working with application teams to troubleshoot connection related issues to include SSL configuration

  • Providing database administration support to the Systems Administrators including database upgrades, backups, user creation, and SSL connections

  • Evaluating new frameworks and contribute to technology selection

Education: 

Candidate must have one of the following:

  • 10 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
  • 8 Years of job related experience and Associate’s degree
  • 6 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL, SQL development experience

  • Strong understanding of database connections including JDBC and ODBC

  • Ability to communicate technical information both verbally and in a written format to technical and non-technical

  •  Ability to work well in independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with Oracle databases (10g, 11g versions)

  • Experience with database tools such as SQL Developer, TOAD, DBArtisan

  • Experience with Solaris, Linux, Windows environments

  • Strong software engineering, development, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies

  • Willingness to learn Windows Systems Administration on a cross-functional Agile Team

  • Scripting experience using Perl, Python or similar advanced scripting languages

  • Willingness to learn and implement Scrum framework, Lean principles, Agile engineering and DevOps
