Description

At Restless Software, we’re helping our clients push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI/ML, and we need a talented Information Systems Security Engineer to join us in this endeavor. You’ll be at the forefront of securing these innovative solutions for our clients, focusing on Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) as they develop and deliver next-generation AI/ML capabilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive systems security engineering support across all applications and systems.
  • Manage and maintain entries for all applications and systems within the clients A&A system(s), including creating new entries as needed for application/system restructuring.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to execute A&A functions, addressing each security control, providing testing and audit logs, and ensuring all requirements are met. This includes managing system Plan of Action & Milestones (POAMs) and documenting all related work within the A&A systems.
  • Provide proactive guidance on information security policies, regulations, and technical implementations, demonstrating a strong understanding of cybersecurity operations and the clients A&A processes.
  • Actively participate in and lead technical exchange meetings and application review boards to verify and validate system security controls. Document all action items and results from these events.
  • Deliver briefings on system statuses and mitigation activities. Provide expert information and guidance to development teams and staff regarding A&A and security status, identifying and assisting in mitigating risks

Mandatory Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a professional role as a Systems Engineer
    • Relevant Bachelors Degree: equivalent to 3 years of experience
    • Relevant Masters/Doctoral Degree: equivalent to 2 years of experience
    • Relevant Certifications: equivalent to 3 months of experience
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity policies, guidance, research, evaluation, and policy development.
  • Proven ability to secure cloud-based systems and applications, including risk mitigation strategies.
  • Extensive experience with system configuration, development, and design, particularly within enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in Accreditation & Authorization (A&A) and information security systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively respond to inquiries from all levels of personnel.

Desired Skills & Certifications:

  • Expertise in data science and data engineering tools and methods.
  • Familiarity with the Sponsor’s mission systems and applications.
  • Experience in system configuration, development, and design, particularly with enterprise systems leveraging the Sponsor’s cloud offerings.

    • ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • ISC Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • ISC Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
    • ISC Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
